The Dream (classic military male art print)
This is a reproduction of Jean Baptiste Edouard Detailles "The Dream" of 1888. Detaille was a great French military artist and was born in 1847 Paris. He studied under Meissonier and served in the Franco-Prussian War. He became a celebrity and died in Paris in 1912. This image is remarkable portraying in symbolist terms the dreams of Napoleonic glory held dear by the soldiers of France during the Franco-Prussian War. It is a striking image and is in a private collection.
