Halcyone (classic female art print)
This is a reproduction of Herbert James Drapers "Halcyone" of 1915. Draper was one of the last of the Victorian Neoclassicists. This image is based on the legend of Halcyone, daughter of the wind god Aolus, who seeks for her husband Ceyx, king of Thessaly. In the story the drowned Ceyx and Halcyone were changed into birds which thereafter were called Halcyone. The artist died in 1920 at the age of fifty-six years. The original painting is in a private collection.
