Marius at Minturnae (classic print of males)
This masterpiece of the French master Drouais was created in Rome in 1786. This student of David painted during the height of the French Romantic period. This work depicts the Roman consul Marius turning back a German assassin by sheer force of will. It currently is in the Musee du Louvre in Paris.
