This is a reproduction of Thomas EakinsÂ’ 1883 masterpiece "Arcadia". Thomas Eakins was born in Philadelphia in 1844 and studied under Jean-Leon Gerome. He became fascinated by photography and bought his first camera in 1880. He began to photograph models and then use the photographs in creating his paintings. This is an example of the technique.
