Coming Storm by George Inness (classic landscape print)
This is a reproduction of George Inness "The Coming Storm" of 1878. Inness was a master of the American Hudson River School and was heavily influenced by Thomas Cole in his early work. His travels to Paris exposed him to the influence of the Barbizon School. Inness became a leader of American artists and, by the time of his death in 1894, his fame was great in America and Europe. This image is a perfect example of Inness fascination with the forces of nature. It is currently in the Museum of Art at the Munson Williams Proctor Institute in Utica, New York.
