This is a reproduction of Henri Matisse’ 1900 masterpiece, "Male Model". The artist began drawing in 1890 while the 21 year old was recuperating from surgery. He made his debut as a painter in 1896. This work of 1900 was created before Matisse developed his mature style and is powerful in its depiction of the male nude with broad swaths of color and line.
