Polyphemus by Gerome (classic male art print)

This beautiful example of Classical painting was produced in France. The artist was born in 1824 and, by the time of his death at the age of eighty years, was a respected master in the French artistic community. The scene depicted is from Greek mythology, specifically the Odyssey. It is when the Cyclops Polyphemus attempts to destroy the ship of Odysseus. The original is in a private collection.
